About Us
Missouri Valley JATC was established in 1962 as a not-for-profit entity with the goal of providing the electrical industry with a steady supply of qualified workers.
Because local unions are often not in a position to offer the diversity of work required, or reasonably continuous employment of apprentices, the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) and National Electrical Contractors Association (NECA) signed an area-wide training agreement with Missouri Valley Line Constructors Apprenticeship Training Program (Missouri Valley JATC) which gives Missouri Valley permission to govern all matters of apprenticeship and training.
The apprenticeship program based in Indianola, Iowa, handles all training/classes for our 7 state jurisdiction (Iowa, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota and Wisconsin).

Just outside of the building stands an expansive pole yard and lattice tower, while our 50,000-square-foot facility offers different energized labs with high-voltage power lines, a low-voltage hot lab, a 65-foot-high indoor climbing facility, and an indoor rescue vault.
